Today we leave Tel Aviv and travel to Rome. We have had a wonderful and very busy week. First we traveled to the old city of Jerusalem. It was incredible to walk around streets that were thousands of years old. We took a tour of the tunnels of the western wall. The tunnels used to be streets open to the sky, but were covered as the city was built up. We also visited the Holocaust Museum--which was very well done and an incredibly moving day. Next we took some time for R & R and visited the beach and some of the local markets. On Friday, we visited the cemetaries where Ami's Grandparents were buried and visited with his family. Sunday we traveled north to tour Carmel Winery --Anna's first wine tasting--then back to Jerusalem for the orthodox wedding--which I will have to blog about at a later date.
Here we are at the western "wailing" wall in Jerusalem.

The view of Jerusalem from Mount of Olives

Relaxing on the beach at "La La Land" one of our favorite beach bars.

The sunset from a beach restaurant called "Gordo."

The umbrellas at Gordo under the Tel Aviv Beach Sunset

2 Liter Beer--yes we had to order it.

In Jerusalem dressed to impress at the Orothodox wedding--I later learned only Americans wear hats like this--Anna and I stood out like you would not believe.

The 3 of us were very close in the back seat of the car.
