Beware: Gift Cards are ripping us off

I have been spending some time cleaning alot of "piles" that have been sitting around my desk for quite some time. I came across a stack of old business cards, credit card, hotel room keys and gift cards. I wondered why I was saving all of these gift cards as they were obviously used. I figured I should check the balance on them before I discarded them. This is what I found: 6
Starbucks Cards with 2.73, .76, 1.00, .16, .73, and 4.62 on left on them, an Einstein Bagel card with $8. 53 left on it, and a Jamba Juice card with $1.49. Unbelievable--all this money just wasting away in my desk drawer. How many people have less than .20 on a gift card and just chuck it. I think this is the biggest scam ever and am now boycotting all gift cards. Send cash instead.
