Tonight Ami heard from an old friend and he told us the Amanda Star lost her battle to Cervical Cancer and passed away on Easter Sunday. While we did not know her on a personal level. She entertained us for several years as part of Zowie Bowie and Amanda Star at Club Rio. Our friends and I spent several a Saturday Night drinking $2 long island and long beaches while dancing the night away under the stars--sometimes dripping with sweat in the heat of summer while she sang her heart out. She was a beautiful woman, talented performer, and always had an energy about her that was contagious.
