Well I have to say that I was in much better spirits this time around. Last year I would have said "This is the most miserable pain anyone could put themselves through" while this year I did enjoy it a little more--mostly because #1: my ipod did not give out. #2. I did not experience the mile 18 emotional breakdown. #3 I think I ran a pretty good first half of the race.
I finished with a smile on my face and am living another day and humoring my friends that I will run another marathon soon--Yeah right--(Don't tell Laura--that I'm just joking about running the San Diego Marathon with her).
Here is my photo journey.

Here I am taking a picture of myself at mile 9. Obviously my cell phone camera is not one of high quality.
Not sure what mile this is, but it was taken by our road crew-Ami and Eric, who dropped us off at 6am and then biked the entire course plus some--handing out red vines, orange slices, gu, and other marathon necessities. Thank you so much guys--we couldn't have done it without your support.

Mile 20 began the beginning of our cheering sections. Mom and Ken came out to cheer me on and mom even ran with me for a little bit--THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH.
It's not called the Rock-n-Roll Marathon for nothing. Here is Elvis at about mile 25. I also like the college kid--who brought his entire DJ set up onto his balcony and played some unauthorized tunes as the runners traveled down University Drive. Thanks Dude-whoever you are.

Right at the end when I least expected it Marisa and Nicole helped run me in while Dan and Kathleen took photos. Also big thanks to the Chavez's. As I approached Tempe Market Place, I saw Ami on Mike's shoulders with the sign-Run Kelly Run. I couldn't help but laugh. And then my dream came true--Marissa handed me a French Fry-After only eating a banana and some peanut butter toast in the wee hours of the morning--that french fry was a gift from the heavens.
Here I am rounding the corner at mile 26. Only 2 tenths of a mile to go--That's my backside in the pink running skirt.
My marathon medal at our annual post marathon Postino celebration--Yes I enjoyed the champagne very much.
